The Rebel Rail takes a Zen approach to producing tracking quality shots. It is super easy to mount. You can lay it out on anything. Use the set around you. Put it between chairs, on tables, shelves, boxes, light stands…anything. It’s lightweight and incredibly strong. Take it in your back pack and carry it along with your HDSLR up on a mountain. It’s that light. Rig it under water (yes, it has been done). It’s the perfect tool for your Canon D5 or D7 (I use it with a Pentax K-x). Most lightweight systems wrestle with instability and tracking shots that doesn’t have that smooth motion you get with heavier gear. That’s not the case with the Rebel Rail. I initially designed it to be able to shoot inside a submarine set – when the Steadicam would bounce off things and a dolly had too wide track and handheld wasn’t the look I was going for. The Rebel Rail is a result of me wanting to express the way I move my head to get depth i shots. It’s a tool for creating art.
